What is a doula?
A doula accompanies women (and their partner) in labor to help them have a more satisfying birth experience. She provides emotional support, physical comfort, and as needed, communication to provide clients with the information to make informed decisions both prior to and during labor. Doulas also meet with clients prior to labor and after your baby is born.
Doulas provide reassurance and perspective to you and your partner, make suggestions for labor progress, and help with relaxation, massage, positioning and other techniques.
As a doula, I do not judge you or try to influence your decisions...just help you achieve the birth you want! I believe any birth in which you are making true informed decisions is a healthy and successful birth.

While I take clients seeking many different types of birthing experiences...my emphasis is on VBACS and homebirths!
My birth doula service area is primarily the Western Chicago suburbs into the city of Chicago. This includes Will County, DuPage and Cook counties. I live in Schiller Park with my 5 children and am willing to travel within a rather large area. I teach a variety of classes.
I have a larger travel range for Placenta Encapsulation, as there are not many placenta encapsulation specialists (PES) in Central IL. Please contact me for details or referrals to other PES in your area.
I am always happy to take any of my workshops on the road. Contact me for details on this.
